Aimee is a passionate yoga teacher from Canberra with more than ten years experience on the mat, and a calling to unite others with themselves through the practice.
Aimee took her first yoga class in 2008 and instantly fell in love. She felt called by the mind-body connection of yoga and never looked back.
Over the next decade yoga became Aimee’s dearest companion, providing her a long awaited channel for physical and emotional expression and laying the foundations for the strong spiritual connection she feels for life today. Yoga brought Aimee a constant sense of groundedness in day to day life, a sense of “home” as she traveled and volunteered around the world, and lit the path for her most recent big adventure — into motherhood.
Inspired to share the physical and emotional benefits of the practice with others, Aimee completed her 200-hour SOULution Yoga teacher training under the guidance of Bonnie Argo and Roz Penfold in Canberra. She later completed her Yin Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation 50-hour training under the guidance of Sarah Owen, and advanced Tantric Yoga and Meditation training with Octavio Salvado at The Practice Bali. She now continues to study the ParaYoga curriculum under the guidance of renowned master teacher Rod Stryker.
With backgrounds in youth work, writing and editing, and a passion for poetry and reading, Aimee interweaves her love for supporting and nurturing others with inspiring pieces of writing to give her students an experience beyond just movement. Through dynamic flows and fluid movements, Aimee’s classes guide students to build strength, flexibility and self-compassion.
Students to Aimee’s flow classes can expect mindful movement, space to challenge yourself, encouragement to practice self-compassion, to listen to your body and make the practice your own… along with thoughtfully chosen music heartfelt words, useful insight from traditional yogic philosophy, and a giggle or two.
When Aimee isn’t teaching or practicing yoga, she is taking long walks with podcasts, baking with her young daughters Willow and Violet, rummaging through the shelves at her favourite second hand book shops, and enjoying music in the sun with her husband + friends.
